Woodland Adventures beyond the Ordinary!
We offer a Woodland Archery and Axe Throwing Experience that you will not forget!
Why try out ONE traditional activity, when you can do TWO!
Whilst ensuring your utmost safety, we welcome you to a unique and incredibly enjoyable Woodland Adventure. Which zones will you chose to test your Bowhunter Archery skills? Will it be the Dinosaurs? Dragons? the creepy creatures of the Un-daid lair? Or would you prefer to protect the elusive Haggis within the Mystical Highland Glen. Are you a Haggis Hunter? or a Haggis Guardian? After some fun in the woodland ranges, we then head off to the Axe Throwing zone to check out your Inner Warrior!
Each session is available for up to six participants (bigger groups by arrangement, email bowhunterarchery@outlook.com).
Absolute beginners welcome, however, you must be at least 12 years old for this session, and accompanied by at least one more participant if you are under 18yrs.
After a quick but thorough Archery safety briefing and instruction, we head out along the woodland paths to the starting point of your adventure. From here you can choose Two Zones from: Dinosaurs, Dragons, the creepy tombs of the Un-daid, or the Mythical Highland Glen and hear some of our local legends. You can choose to meet our elusive wild Haggis, and become our Haggis Guardian for your session, protecting them from the other creatures. Your archery adventure awaits.. Instructor led throughout by a fully qualified ArcheryGB Instructor, who will challenge yourself and your family/friends. Mini competitions and fun targets, with lots of hints and tips to keep you aiming true.
Soon it is time to change activities and you will be led to the Axe Throwing Zone to try your hand at this exciting activity. A quick safety and demonstration to show the basics of technique, then it is your turn to try out the different axes until you find your warrior weapon! Our qualified and very patient Instructors stay with you throughout, to help you get the hang of axe throwing and to keep the Vikings at bay. - Our sessions consist of small groups, please remember other families may be waiting for you to arrive. Contact us if you expect to be late! More than 10 minutes, without contact, and we will release the dinosaurs back into the wild and you will be unable to participate.
- Safety is important, so please ensure long hair is tied back, loose jewellery/scarves tucked in/removed, closed toe shoes are worn.
- We recommend wearing lightweight layers, long sleeves, sunscreen on warmer days and insect repellant. A showerproof jacket is also very handy (all year round!)
- During lighter showers we work around them and shoot through, however, torrential downpour/storms are dangerous, and we may be forced to cancel with full refund.
Woodland Archery is available to all those aged 8yrs and over.
- We do not allow children under 16yrs to participate on their own, another person must participate with them.
- We recommend a 60 minute session for those aged 8-10yrs.
Axe Throwing is for aged 12yrs and over.
- We do not allow any children under 16yrs to participate alone, another person must participate with them.
- We recommend a 30 minute session for those aged 12-16yrs, or combine it with the Woodland Archery.

However, to maximise your enjoyment of the session, it is really important to tell us during the booking process if anyone has any additional support/health support requirements. We have strict ratios in place, and specially trained Archery Instructors that can ensure you all have the absolute best time ever!
