Longbow Woodland Experience
This exclusive session, especially for smaller groups, is for a maximum group size of just 5 people. This special session takes you on the Traditional Archery journey, assisted by Traditional Archery Instructors. Low poundage bows are there to support you whilst you get to grips with the ancient techniques, as we introduce you to the world of the historical Longbow and Strongbow.
Immerse yourself in the woods as you learn to shoot unmarked distances at traditional paper targets, with fun competitions within our Mystical Highland Glen, and a longer distance range to test your new found skills.
This is a truly wonderful 2 hour experience, as your instructors are also your guides and can entertain you with the local myths and legends whilst supporting your progress. Many of our Traditional Archery Instructors wear kilts, so please be courteous. The pace for this session is chilled out, this is a time to just breathe and enjoy, and immerse yourself in the woodland.
The minimum age for Longbow is 14yrs. Should you have a friend/family group of 6 people please let us know as we may be able to accomodate one more. Morning sessions can be accomodated in advance, again please just get in touch with us.
Your Instructor stays with you throughout, teaching and guiding you through your session. After learning the basics of archery, there will be ample opportunity to try out and hone these skills, using specially designed shooting zones within the woodland. A short break may be incorporated into the session should it be required, as this experience is all about chilling out whilst learning this fun traditional activity. However, do expect to walk woodland paths and be immersed in our lovely little wood. There will be opportunity to spot our local wildlife, which we nurture, including our fab Red Squirrels.

Our sessions consist of small groups, please remember other people may be waiting for you to arrive so we can start the adventure. Do contact us if you expect to be late! More than 10 minutes, without contact, and we will release the dinosaurs back into the wild and you will be unable to participate.
Safety is important, so please ensure long hair is tied back, loose jewellery/scarves tucked in/removed, closed toe shoes are worn.We recommend wearing lightweight layers, long sleeves, sunscreen on warmer days and insect repellant. A showerproof jacket is also very handy (all year round!). During lighter showers we work around them and shoot through, however, torrential downpour/storms are dangerous, and we may be forced to cancel with full refund.
We do not allow anyone under 18yrs to participate on their own, another person must participate with them. This session is for those aged 14yrs or over and although not too demanding physically, will require some focus and a reasonable level of fitness.

However, to maximise your enjoyment of the session, it is really important to tell us during the booking process if anyone has any additional support/health support requirements. We have strict ratios in place, and specially trained Archery Instructors that can ensure you all have the absolute best time ever!
It is always sad when you have to cancel, and we totally understand that these things happen. We would prefer to try and find you a new date rather than fully cancel, however, that too can sometimes be tricky if you are limited to time.
If you need to cancel, or reduce the number of booked participants in your group, up to 48 hours before the start of your booked session, we will refund any money paid to us for that participant/group.
If you need to cancel, or reduce the number of booked participants in your group, within 48 hours of the start time of your booked session, we will refund 50% of any money paid to us for that participant/group.
If you do not turn up for your booked session, and we have not had any contact from you, we will not refund any money paid to us.
