Haggis Herding in the Highlands!
Deep in the ancient Highland woods roam creatures of legend — wild haggis of folklore, cunning and swift, hidden among the trees. Join this immersive woodland archery experience where fun, lore, and skill come together in a family-friendly outdoor adventure.
Unlike our Woodland Archery sessions, this is a themed mission: you will hone your archery skills alongside expert instructors and embark on a Haggis Rescue Adventure, helping the mythical creatures escape danger and return to safety. Each element of the session — from woodland archery ranges to storytelling moments — is designed to spark imagination, laughter, and unforgettable memories in nature.

Whether you’re holding a bow for the first time or refining your technique, our experienced guides break down the basics and encourage you every step of the way. Precision, safety, and fun are at the heart of this experience.
Whimsical woodland zones
Navigate through themed archery areas and take aim at targets inspired by myth and lore — from hidden haggis dens to wild Highland scenes. The forest becomes your arena, with challenges to engage every participant.
Team adventure & family fun
Work together with friends or family, young and old, as you pursue your mission. Every arrow drawn and target struck brings you closer to freeing the elusive haggis and earning your haggis guardian stripes.
Certificate of Completion
At the end of your session, receive your very own Haggis Guardian certificate — a little keepsake to mark your bravery and woodland triumphs.
Extra Info
Each session is available for up to eight participants so you may be within a friendly mixed group. However, do not fear! you will have plenty of time, and opportunity, to not just learn the basics of Field Archery, but to test your new skills in rescuing each Haggis. Bigger groups (max of 20 for Haggis Guardian) can be accomodated by arrangement, email bowhunterarchery@outlook.com.
Please allow up to 1h45mins for this amazing Woodland Archery Adventure Session. As this is a mixed group session, please contact us if you are running late. This session requires a prompt start due to the nature of the adventure.
Our minimum age for the Haggis Rescue Adventure is 8yrs old. We require a minimum number of two persons. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
After a quick but thorough safety briefing and instruction, we head off along the woodland paths to the starting point of your unforgettable Woodland Adventure. From here we head towards the zones to find out where the Haggis have run off to, rescuing them from whatever danger they have caught themselves up in! All we ask is Please Don't Shoot the Haggis! (Especially Duggie our very own Sabre-toothed Haggis, he is extremely endangered already!) Shooting a Haggis could set back your mission, and endanger all the other Haggi! Once all the Haggi have been rescued we can release them back to their sanctuary in the Highland Glen.

- Our sessions consist of small groups, please remember other people may be waiting for you to arrive. Contact us if you expect to be late! More than 10 minutes, without contact, and we will release the dinosaurs back into the wild and you will be unable to participate.
- Safety is important, so please ensure long hair is tied back, loose jewellery/scarves tucked in/removed, closed toe shoes are worn.
- We recommend wearing lightweight layers, long sleeves, sunscreen on warmer days and insect repellant. A showerproof jacket is also very handy (all year round!)
- During lighter showers we work around them and shoot through, however, torrential downpour/storms are dangerous, and we may be forced to cancel with full refund.
Haggis Guardian Archery Adventure is available to all those aged 8yrs and over.
- We do not allow children under 18yrs to participate on their own, an adult must accompany child/ren.
- This session is lengthy, with woodland walking and shooting, however the pace is steady. If in doubt please contact us with your concerns.
