Haggis Rescue Adventures, an Unforgettable and Unique Experience.

Unlike Woodland Archery, where you challenge yourself and pitch yourself up against your friends and family, with the Haggis Rescue Adventure you have to work together to save our Highland Haggis! Absolute beginners are welcome to all of our Woodland Archery Sessions, including this daring Haggis Rescue mission! Under the guidance of qualified instructors, we welcome you to journey along woodland paths, to at least three different shooting zones. In a bid to save our lovely wee Haggi you will encounter the magical and mythical - and it normally has sharp teeth too! We won't know which zones until on the day, when we go searching for our escaped Haggi. So be prepared to meet Dinosaurs, Dragons, the things in theCreepy Graveyard, and hopefully visit the mystical Highland Glen - the home to our wild Highland Haggis.

Each session is available for up to eight participants so you may be within a friendly mixed group. However, do not fear! you will have plenty of time, and opportunity, to not just learn the basics of Field Archery, but to test your new skills in rescuing each Haggis. Bigger groups (max of 20 for Haggis Rescue) can be accomodated by arrangement, email bowhunterarchery@outlook.com.

This Archery Woodland Adventure Session is 100 minutes long. As this is a mixed group session, please contact us if you are running late. This session requires a prompt start due to the nature of the adventure.

Our minimum age for the Haggis Rescue Adventure is 8yrs old. We require a minimum number of two persons.

Bowhunter Archery - Balnagowan Woods, B9092, Nairn IV2 7QX, UK

After a quick but thorough safety briefing and instruction, we head off along the woodland paths to the starting point of your Woodland Adventure. From here we head towards the zones to find out where the Haggis have run off to, rescuing them from whatever danger they have caught themselves up in!  All we ask is Please Don't Shoot the Haggis! (Especially Duggie our very own Sabre-toothed Haggis, he is extremely endangered already!) Shooting a Haggis could set back your mission, and endanger all the other Haggi! Once all the Haggi have been rescued we can release them back to the Highland Glen.

All our sessions are suitable for absolute beginners. Our instructors are not just fully qualified and experienced, but they are all archers themselves, they will help you keep on track.  There will be a small award at the end of the session for everyone that saved at least 3 Haggis!

  • Sense of humour
  • Sturdy footwear - no open toe sandals please.
  • Long hair tied back
  • Remove dangly earrings/jewellery
  • Midgie repellant from March-November
  • Waterproof jacket (just in case!)
  • We recommend several light layers of clothing

Please read for important extra information.

  • Our sessions consist of small groups, please remember other people may be waiting for you to arrive. Contact us if you expect to be late! More than 10 minutes, without contact, and we will release the dinosaurs back into the wild and you will be unable to participate.
  • Safety is important, so please ensure long hair is tied back, loose jewellery/scarves tucked in/removed, closed toe shoes are worn.
  • We recommend wearing lightweight layers, long sleeves, sunscreen on warmer days and insect repellant. A showerproof jacket is also very handy (all year round!)
  • During lighter showers we work around them and shoot through, however, torrential downpour/storms are dangerous, and we may be forced to cancel with full refund.

Haggis Rescue Woodland Adventure is available to all those aged 8yrs and over.

  • We do not allow children under 18yrs to participate on their own, a known adult must be with them (spectating is fine).
  • This session is lengthy, with woodland walking and shooting, however the pace is steady. If in doubt please contact us with your concerns.
  • This session is not suitable for those with an allergy to dinosaurs.

We are inclusive, promoting and supporting Accessibility to All. However, to maximise your enjoyment of the session, it is really important to tell us during the booking process if anyone has any additional support/health support requirements. We have strict ratios in place, and specially trained Archery Instructors that can ensure you have the absolute best time ever! Help us to provide the best experience for you x

It is always sad when you have to cancel, and we totally understand that these things happen. We would prefer to try and find you a new date rather than fully cancel, however, that too can sometimes be tricky if you are limited to time.

If you need to cancel, or reduce the number of booked participants in your group, up to 48 hours before the start of your booked session, we will refund any money paid to us for that participant/group.

If you need to cancel, or reduce the number of booked participants in your group, within 48 hours of the start time of your booked session, we will refund 50% of any money paid to us for that participant/group.

If you do not turn up for your booked session, and we have not had any contact from you, we will not refund any money paid to us.
