Coorie, Find Your Calm and Happiness in a Highland Woodland.

Woodland Archery is soup for the soul and we are delighted to offer this exclusive winter experience as we embrace our great outdoors. Balancing ourselves during busy, short days can be tiring, so we are offering you our extra special cosy Coorie experience. Make the most of a relaxed woodland archery adventure, add in some axe throwing if you would like, then follow it all up with a hot drink beside the firepit with one of our Bushcrafting leaders. Or snuggle up in the cosy yurt where they can show you how to whittle your own wee souvenir to take home. Your choice entirely. This experience is about switching off and chilling out, embracing winter and snuggling up with furry blankets and watching the Red Squirrels. This unique and unforgettable session is a minimum of 2hrs long (max. 2h30), with a good 75 minutes shooting/axe throwing time. Everything is optional so you can choose your own JOMO as you find your head space. Come and join us for some "me time", making these darker winter days a little bit more fun.

Absolute beginners are welcome to all of our Woodland Archery Sessions, including this special experience! Under the guidance of qualified instructors, we welcome you to journey along woodland paths, to at least two different shooting zones. You will encounter the magical and mythical, and it normally has sharp teeth too, so be prepared to meet Dinosaurs, Dragons, and be sure to visit the mystical Highland Glen and learn some of our folklore too.

Each session is available for up to six participants so you may be within a friendly mixed group. However, do not fear! you will have plenty of time, space and opportunity, to not just learn the basics of Field Archery/Axe Throwing, but to test your new skills in at least two zones, and the firepit seats 20. This can be made exclusive use, contact us in the first instance and we can let you know availability and a price for your own special session.

Stuck for Staff Christmas Party ideas or the After Christmas Do!  Bigger exclusive use groups (max of 15 for the Coorie - a Cosy Woodland Experience) can be accomodated by arrangement, email us at  bowhunterarchery@outlook.com

This Woodland Adventure is a minimum of 2hrs long, to a maximum of 2h30.

As this is a mixed group session, please contact us if you are running late. This session requires a prompt start due to maximising your time with us here at Bowhunter Archery, however, just reach out to us if you have any queries.

  • Our minimum age for this session is 14yrs old
  • All children must be accompanied by a participating adult
  • We require a minimum of two people to run this session
  • Solo visitors (aged 18yr+) are most welcome to contact us direct and we can see if there is a session running
Blackcastle, Scotland, United Kingdom

After a quick but thorough safety briefing and instruction, we head off along the tranquil woodland paths to the starting point of your Woodland Adventure. From here we head to the mystical zones, building on your new skills and furthering your technique. We have kept the group size small to enable everyone to enjoy a more chilled out experience. After 50 minutes you can choose to continue with Woodland Archery or add in Axe Throwing to the session. We keep axe throwing sessions shorter in the winter months to maintain equipment. This optional extra will be just 25 minutes long - enough time to learn the technique and have some fun.

After you have finished your chosen activities, come and warm up by the firepit. If it is particularly cold we can head to the snuggly yurt with its warm stove. Once you are warmed up with a hot beverage, you have the opportunity to whittle a wee souvenir under the guidance of our Bushcraft leader. Or just enjoy sitting beside the fire and watching the red squirrels and the birds. Toasting marshmallows is totally optional too!

All our sessions are suitable for absolute beginners. Our instructors are not just fully qualified and experienced, but they are all archers themselves, they will help you keep on track.  *We may be unable to cater for all dietary requirements with hot chocolate/marshmallows. If you do have a specialist requirement please reach out to us and we will do what we can.

We have strict ratios in place, and specially trained Archery Instructors that can ensure you have the absolute best time ever! Help us to provide the best experience for you x

It is always sad when you have to cancel, and we totally understand that these things happen. We would prefer to try and find you a new date rather than fully cancel, however, that too can sometimes be tricky if you are limited to time.

If you need to cancel, or reduce the number of booked participants in your group, up to 48 hours before the start of your booked session, we will refund any money paid to us for that participant/group.

If you need to cancel, or reduce the number of booked participants in your group, within 48 hours of the start time of your booked session, we will refund 50% of any money paid to us for that participant/group.

If you do not turn up for your booked session, and we have not had any contact from you, we will not refund any money paid to us.
